Privacy Policy

Pre-launch draft. This page describes how Tendvine is built today and has not been reviewed by a lawyer. It is not yet a binding document. Before Tendvine accepts real communities, this must be reviewed and replaced by counsel.

What we collect, and why

Tendvine holds only what running your community requires.

Your account. An email address, and a display name and avatar if you add them. The email is how you sign in — Tendvine is passwordless by default, so we send you a link rather than storing a password.

Your community's content. Messages, files, events and member lists belong to the community that created them. Admins control who can see what, through roles and community security policies.

Technical records. Sign-in times, the devices you have trusted, and audit entries for administrative actions. These exist so an admin can answer "who changed this, and when" — and so we can lock out an attacker.

What we do not do

There is no advertising, no profiling and no analytics on this product. Your member list is never a product, and we do not sell or share it. Members join free; only the organisation pays. That is deliberate — it means we answer to communities rather than advertisers.

Cookies

Only three kinds, and two of them need no permission:

• Sign-in and security. Strictly necessary — without them you cannot stay signed in, and we cannot protect the form you just submitted.
• Your preferences. Theme and language, stored only once you choose one.
• Optional error reporting. The one thing the consent banner actually gates. See Privacy choices.

Error reporting

If you allow it, crash details are sent to our own self-hosted monitoring service so we can fix what broke. It runs on Tendvine's infrastructure in Europe — not a third-party analytics company. It receives your IP address, which is why we ask first. Decline and the product works exactly the same.

Your data is yours

A full export is always available, and it is complete: everything your community owns, in a portable form. Delete your account and it is genuinely deleted, not hidden.

Where your data lives

Tendvine runs on servers in Europe. Backups are encrypted and stored in Europe as well.
